Angeliki Marietou joined the Center June 1

The physiology and ecology of sulfate reducing prokaryotes is the main area of Angeliki Marietou’s research. Angeliki’s work at the center will include the bioenergetics of sulfate reduction with an emphasis on marine sediments.

Angeliki has previously worked as a postdoc examining the effects of high pressure on microbial life at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, USA. She has obtained her PhD in molecular microbiology.
