Felix Beulig have during his PhD worked on "Microbial life under extreme CO2 concentrations", studying the microbial communities in highly acidic soils. He ia an experienced user of a broad range of methods from molecular microbiology and biogeochemistry, including the most relevant DNA-based methods, laboratory-based radiotracer experiments, carbon stable isotope techniques, and organic and inorganic chemical analyses. Felix will study methanogenic archaea in subsurface marine sediment.
