Expedition 347 - Baltic Sea Paleoenvironment took place from the 12th September to 1st November 2013 on board the drilling vessel Greatship Manisha. Professor Bo Barker Jørgensen from the Center for Geomicrobiology were Co-Chief Scientist together with his colleague Thomas Andrén, Senior Lecturer, School of Life Sciences, Södertörn University, Sweden. From Aarhus university, Center for Geomicrobiology participated also Postdoc Ian Marshall and PhD student Andrea Torti.

The scientists cored sediments from beneath the seafloor at seven different locations – from the Kattegat to the Gulf of Bothnia in the area of Härnösand, Sweden.

The scientific and engineering results are now published in The Expedition Report from the IODP Drilling in the Baltic Sea. You can read the report here publications.iodp.org/proceedings/347/347toc.htm
