Life at multiple extremes: is hydrostatic pressure conflicting or compensatory?

A position is available for a Master Thesis project at the Center for Geomicrobiology, Dept. of Bioscience. The topic concerns microbial life under multiple extremes (e.g., temperature, pH, etc.), with a particular focus on hydrostatic pressure, a rather overlooked parameter which shapes the microbial ecology and molecular biology of the large majority of the microorganisms on our planet.

The ideal candidate will join the Self-Healing Cement project funded by Mærsk Oil and work for a period of 6-10 months. Contacts: alberto.scoma@bios.au.dk
